Dear Everybody, hello again.

I very much enjoyed my institution on Friday 5 September at Elsing, and meeting so many of you in the hall afterwards.  Many of you have made me very welcome then and since, and thank you to all of you who left me cards and even flowers at the Rectory.

In the next few weeks I hope I shall be getting to meet more of you as I get around the parishes.  There seems to be a busy autumn programme of events throughout the whole benefice, and I hope you will come up to me and introduce yourselves.  If you don’t meet me around the parish in the next few weeks, but wish to see me about something, please don’t hesitate to phone me. 

I shan’t be around on Fridays, which I shall be taking as my day off.  If anything urgent crops up, please contact Tom Candeland, the Rural Dean, or one of the neighbouring clergy.

We have days off on the principle that God rested on the seventh day of creation.  I hope that you are looking after yourselves, and making sure that you have enough time off for yourselves and your families, regularly, to relax, unwind, and recharge your batteries. 

I have been enjoying the beauty and peacefulness of this part of the world so much.  And I am mindful of people who live in ugly or dangerous places, and those who cannot find time for themselves because of their circumstances.  Perhaps we could be thinking about them when we have time for ourselves.
