THE BENEFICE CHOIR.

The Benefice Choir sang at its first united service last month after coming together as a group at the end of January. Rehearsals have been on a Thursday at 7.30pm in the comfort of the music room at Church View. The 15 or so members have responded very well in learning to sing together as a united team and surpassed all expectations!
On a lovely, bright, cold, snowy morning we met to rehearse at 9.30pm at Elsing Church with Edwin Speakman, the organist for the service. This was the first time
the choir had sung in a church, and with Edwin at the organ.
It took sometime to warm up and get use to the surroundings, but once away
the choir responded and sang very well making a lovely sound in this magnificent Church. They gave a good lead to the hymn singing and also contributed two anthems, Fairest Lord Jesus by Martin How and The Lord Bless You and Keep You by John Rutter.

It was a lovely service, greatly enhanced by the choir and music. Thank you
to all those that gave us encouragement after the service over a warm and  welcoming cup of coffee. Thanks also to Edwin for his sensitive accompaniment.

The choir will sing at the next united service at 10.30am on Sunday 30th May.

If you are interested in joining we rehearse at Church View on a Thursday at
7.30pm.
The choir is made up of representatives from Bawdeswell, Lyng and Sparham.

Come on FOXLEY, ELSING and Bylaugh - we need you !!

EASTER SERVICES –
Good Friday:  Morning Worship  10.30am
Easter Sunday:  Holy Communion (Prayer Book)
  & Family Baptism  10.30am

The proposed Antiques Roadshow fundraising event planned for 17th April has been cancelled.  Instead we will be sharing in the “Broadway Comes to Bawdeswell” event in June.  See page 9.

Since the last Reeve’s Tale two Bawdeswell residents, Mrs Grace Whybrow and Keith Evans, have passed away.
Mrs Whybrow will be remembered especially by the older villagers for the shop and post office she used to run a long time ago with her husband in the Reepham Road.
Keith Evans, 57,  lived in the Street opposite the post box.  He was a friendly person always happy to pause tending his garden and have a chat.
Both will be greatly missed by their families and friends to whom our thoughts and prayers go out.  RT.
