THE BECK WI
Aleathia, our President, opened the meeting and Carol read the Minutes of the January meeting.
Aleathia then introduced Patricia Stevenson, a very able speaker and obviously a tireless worker for Save the Children. This Charity was formed soon after 1918 and is extremely well organised, as indeed it must be when one realises the terrific amount of work done worldwide for children of all ages.
Patricia talked specifically of an area at the very south of Tanzania, a large area where there is so much poverty and hardship. Among slides she showed us was one of a recently completed school and we were very impressed by the willingness of the children to work to earn money so that they could "now go to school", which was of course, the well chosen title of Patricia's talk.

Winner of the best grown hyacinth bulb - Jean, 2nd Janet. Faith won the raffle.

Meeting next month (8th March): Mr. David Craske talks on "A Safari & Sambura Cultural Centre". Hope to see you all, and of course, new members are always made welcome. 7.30 p.m. in Sparham's Old School Room.

The exhibition is - a Holiday Souvenir.

REEPHAM ROTARY CLUB
The Club recently had a talk by Peter Mendham of The East Anglian Air Ambulance.  The ladies joined members to hear from Peter of the vast sums of money that have to be raised to keep the helicopter in the air.  It is his ambition to acquire a bigger and better helicopter and eventually have two for the area.  It is the club's main charity for the year.

With all the disasters that seem to be happening throughout the world, the Club decided to buy and fill two extra Aquaboxes this year.  We have already dispatched four.

The Club is busily preparing for the Olde Time Music Hall, which is being held at Reepham High School on March 13th.  The majority of the 180 tickets have already been sold, so it's sure to be a sell-out, despite the threat of Rotarians performing with their annual attempt to sing.

Kevin and Judy Marles have volunteered, hopefully with some others, to sell the Marie Curie daffodils on 13th March in Reepham Market Place.
