REEPHAM & DISTRICT ROTARY

On Saturday 13th March the Club organised their third old time musical at Reepham High School.  It was a very enjoyable and entertaining evening put on by the Troop from Sussex. They endured seventeen Rotarians singing their version of Henry The Eighth and Champagne Charlie!  About £2,500 was raised for this year's charity - The East Anglian Air Ambulance.

At a recent meeting a special presentation, The RIBI Community and Vocation
Service Award was made to Dr Arthur Garrett.  The presentation was made by
Vocational Service Officer, John Tym and a brief resumé of Dr Garrett's work
with the Church Missionary Society in Nigeria to his days as a GP in Reepham. He continues to give support to the local community, for which he visits the sick and elderly, acts as a Lay Reader at the local church and rides his bicycle to support the North Norfolk Church Trust Annual Bike Ride, at the age of 86.  Last year he managed to visit 29 churches.

John Tym summed up by saying this gentleman has through his vocation, devoted his life to the service of others, both internationally and within his community and is an example to us all.

Members are now trying to get fit for the next fundraising project – a sponsored cycle ride.
