 THE BOOK CLUB      
The book club has made a good start with 15 attending the first meeting 
in The Old Workhouse Bar.
We have agreed to hold our meetings on the first Wednesday of each 
month, though I now realise that the first Wednesday in January will be 
New Years Day !
Because we are quite   a large group, we selected 3 books to choose 
from for the month, this led to lively discussion and a thoroughly 
enjoyable evening at our November meeting.

For next month our book choices are ;

 " The Harlot's Prerogative"      Andrew Moncur.

  "Catfish and Mandela"           Andrew X Pham

   "The Handmaiden's Tale"    Margaret Attwood

Wensum Valley Birdwatching Society invites you to the Inaugural Meeting at Lenwade Village Hall on Thursday 16th January 2003 at 7.30pm.

Our aims
· To encourage and share the enjoyment of birdwatching with others in the   Wensum valley area
· Encourage novice birdwatchers to take an active interest in birdwatching
· Share information with the members
In addition we hope to
· Gather and collate data on birds in the area
· Participate in regional and national bird surveys
· Liase with other conservation groups within the area and more widely

The format of the meeting will be a short talk by that well known Norfolk ringer and birder Allan Hale on “Bird Ringing in Norfolk”
This will be followed by a discussion on what people want from the society so that the needs of all can be met.
