THINGS TO COME AT ELMHAM SURGERY
The Elmham Surgery Patient Participation Group met on Wed. 9th October.
As patients will be aware, car parking at the surgery has been a major issue which the group, working with the doctors, has tried to address.  There is no legal right for parking space to be made available, as many of us will know from other surgeries, but the good news is that the doctors have agreed, subject to planning permission, to create a staff car park at the rear of the surgery.  This will release up to twenty more spaces in the present car park.
Another problem that has been brought to the attention of the Group is the Dispensary queue.  The Doctors and staff are considering a system which could do away with the need for people to stand in a line waiting to get to the dispensary counter. In addition, the doctors are considering the possibility of a scheme that would make it easier for some patients in outlying villages to get their repeat prescriptions locally. The scheme that's under consideration would use post offices as distribution-points for repeat medicines ordered for patients over 60 or for people who are house-bound.

The last bit of news from the surgery is the expectation that the promised website will be 'on line' by the new year.

The next meeting of the Patients Group will be on Tuesday, December 11th at 7.30pm in Elmham School. All are welcome. Or you can raise any points you want to make by contacting Isabel Fowler at 01362 668909 or Alan MacKim at 01362 668831.
