Information in an Emergency
Following the chaos during the prolonged power cuts this Winter, when nobody could get through on the phone to the Electricity supply company, and Radio Norfolk went off the air – there was a distinct sense of panic in the community as nobody could find out what was happening.
Breckland District Council have come up with the excellent idea of  asking each community to nominate an ‘Emergency Member’ who will have direct  contact with the Council’s Emergency Planning Officer in times of need.
At the December Parish Council meeting it was decided that Andrew Battley and the Bawdeswell Store would be the best option as there is always someone at the shop to take messages etc., and it seem the best place for people to get information.

Parish Clerk, Bawdeswell.

Notice of plans to re-site Letter Box Number 2035 at Bawdeswell
The present letter box at All Saints Court in The Street has been left in the middle of the pavement after the redevelopment of the old garage site.  It is necessary to move it.

The ideal location would be on the pavement near the entrance of the community post office, i.e. the entrance to Folland Court off The Street, by the Parish Noticeboard.

The Royal Mail wherever possible seek the views of local people. So if you have any observation you would like to make, please contact Neil Hartley, Collections & Network Support Manager, Norwich Mail Centre, Thorpe Road, Norwich NR1 1AA.
