BAWDESWELL COMMUNITY PRIMARY SCHOOL

It is with regret that I have to inform you Miss Foucher has tendered her resignation from the end of this term.  Miss Foucher has given the children in her care an excellent start to their education.  Whilst we feel saddened that she will not be continuing her teaching career at Bawdeswell, we wish her all the best for whatever the future holds for her.

Six years after the formal date, Mrs Cotton has finally decided that she must retire so that she may follow her own interests and spend more time with her family.  She will still be involved with school in a voluntary capacity.  We are grateful to her for the time that she has given us and for initiating the musical life that has really taken hold in Bawdeswell.  She has been an inspiration to us all.

We are grateful to both these members of staff for the outstanding contributions that they have made to the life of our school.

Many of you will be concerned to know what will be happening in the next academic year. The classes will be organised as follows:-

Class 1 Mrs K Westall

Class 2 Mrs A Wilson

Class 3 Mr J Kerkham

Class 4 Mrs A Hallam

Mrs Banbury will continue to teach science throughout the school, and will teach art to Class 4 on Friday afternoons.

In spite of budgetary difficulties that all schools are experiencing (as you no doubt have seen in the media) there will be no reduction in Classroom Assistant provision.

Being the Summer Term there have been a lot of exciting trips.  Class 3 & 4  The Stody Estate on 21st May, Class 4  Castle Acre on 4th June, Class 3 Oxburgh Hall 6th June, Year 6 pupils- cultural visit to Holland 22nd to 25th  June inclusive, Class 2 Hunstanton Sea Life Centre 7th July, Class 1 Snettisham Park Farm 9th July.

July 11th – Year 6 Induction to High School and new entrants to school for morning and other pupils class swap.

July 18th – Leavers Assembly, Parents of Class 4 invited. 2pm start.
