FRIENDS OF BAWDESWELL CHURCH

100 CLUB
We are always keen to extend our membership, and you can help us by taking part in our 100 Club Draw.   At the moment the draw is only Quarterly  (1st prize £100) because we have not reached 100 members yet.

The next Draw is due on  Saturday July 5th at a Coffee Morning in the Church 10.30am.  Do come along, no charge is made for coffee and biscuits, and  the last one was very well attended !

Tickets now on sale and selling fast!
Don’t miss this evening of fun with Bar, Hog Roast, and dancing to the Norfolk Wherries with a caller who will make sure we can all join in!
 
 

CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL 
We are planning a Christmas Tree Festival the weekend of Sat/Sun 13th/14th December.  We hope to supply the many trees, but we would like you ( club, group or individual) to sponsor and decorate one of them.  There will be a light-hearted Christmas concert in the church at 4pm on the Sunday, for all to enjoy.

BAWDESWELL PARISH COUNCIL- EXTRACTS  OF MEETING HELD ON MONDAY 2nd JUNE 2003 at 7.30pm. IN  THE VILLAGE HALL
PRESENT:    Councillors Hind(Chairman), Jackson, Lilwall, McColville and Wallace.    
Mrs. Floering Blackman (CC) Mr. G.Bambridge (DC).

 APOLOGIES:  Councillor Mallen

The Chairman opened the meeting and asked for one minutes silence for John Clarke who died recently.   He as a well respected member of the Council and will be sadly missed.   Condolences to be sent to his family.

MINUTES OF LAST MEETING:   Agreed and signed
MATTERS ARISING:
-  John Mallen and Piers Wallace have been co-opted onto the Council to fill two vacancies.
-  Tollgate Cottage - Letter from Mr. Gurney stating 'instructions have been given to start the work -Contractors should be on site any day'.
- Pathway between Saxon Meadows and Recreation Field - at moment nothing heard from Mr. Balmforth.
PLANNING:
- Waratah, The Street - proposed rear extension to bungalow - No Objections.  
- PP granted to Church View, The Street- erection of car port in grounds.
VILLAGE APPRAISAL:   Meeting held 28th May - disappointing turnout only 9 people attending.   Highlights/major requests are being identified and will be discussed at next meeting (24th June) .   Clerk to ask Mr. Battley to next PC meeting so that Councillors are aware what will be required so that next stage - The Parish Plan - can be completed.   Councillor Wallace to be PC representative on Village Appraisal.
VILLAGE SIGN is to be taken down and repainted.   Queries/cost  being made about having a fibreglass casting of old sign so that original can be preserved and displayed in the Village Hall.
AOB:
- Seat to be put in Children’s Play area .
- Two dog bins to be purchased to go in Paradise Road and near School.
- Prices to be obtained to refurbish/re-hang original wooden gate for Church (which was damaged by vandals).

NEXT MEETING WILL BE ON MONDAY 7th JULY AT 7.30pm IN THE VILLAGE HALL.   ALL PARISHIONERS ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND.
