BAWDESWELL COMMUNITY PRESCHOOL

We are having a very busy term!  We have been exploring water and its different uses.  We have looked at using water for washing ourselves and the importance of keeping fresh and clean.  We looked at different aspects of weather and looked at life found in and around a natural pond. We are keeping our eyes open for frogspawn so that we can learn about the life cycle of a frog. We are looking forward to our Easter Fun Day, on the last day of Term, when we will be having a Teddy Bears Picnic and enjoying lots of games including a Balloon Race!

FRIENDS OF BAWDESWELL SCHOOL

Wildlife garden enthusiasts
Within the school grounds there is a secluded pond and garden area. This is a very pretty area that has been developed and conserved over the past few years in order that wildlife and insects are encouraged into this completely natural environment. Thus creating an invaluable, hands on, teaching aid for every child within school.
Obviously an area such as this requires a periodic maintenance and management programme. For this, the Friends, on behalf of the school and its children are looking for people knowledgeable in ponds and wildlife gardens. Our thoughts were that perhaps a gardening club could be established in which those involved could meet every few weeks at the pond to carry out the required maintenance while enjoying a pleasant hour or so of like minded sociable company. If you have the enthusiasm and ability and feel that this would appeal to you then please contact Kay Gordon, tel.  688391 or Melanie Purcell, tel. 683762

Skills and Talents
The entertainment evening originally planned for Sat 1st May will now take place on Sat 15th May in the village hall between 7-11 p.m. As previously published the evening takes the form of a generation game, so this is request for all of you skilled and talented people to come forward. As most of us are familiar with T.V. s Gen Game, you will be aware that we need skills that aren’t necessarily complicated but take only a few minutes to perform and look very easy. E.g. erecting a tent, basic cake decorating, even origami. If you are prepared to be involved and put others through their paces in the name of good humoured entertainment then please contact us as soon as possible.

NEXT MEETING:-
An open meeting, all welcome.
Tuesday 20th April  at 7.30 p.m.
