BAWDESWELL GROUND FORCE

Heritage Team.  The  first Village Information leaflet is now available in Bawdeswell Store.  Our thanks to Andy Battley for arranging the printing of it, and Robin Taylor for his work in its production.
Three further leaflets detailing circular walks in the area are in the pipeline.
Alex Kirby is working on display holders for the leaflets so that they can be made available more widely.

Ground Force  have continued with splendid clear-up efforts.  The lay-by on Billingford Road is much improved.  The probation team did a great job with heavy undergrowth clearance and our group went again to litter pick.  Fly-tipping is still happening.  Asbestos is also still awaiting specialist removal.

The Wednesday Team met on the Recreation Ground for work on side land and edging of the car park area.  They started demolishing the old football hut.  They would like to re-position the re-cycling containers on to a concrete pad, for ease of upkeep.
There may be interest in starting our own village compost on the field.  To be discussed further.
We had a visit from Gerald Denhard from the Norfolk County Council landscape department.  He has given us some ideas for further development of the Recreation Ground and will have plans for us to work from and discuss by our September meeting .
Meanwhile Mr Swain has removed equipment from the Children’s Play Area that was suspect, also two concrete blocks.  The placing of the bench has been welcomed by parents and youngsters and  we hope that it will be respected by all users.
New junior swings have been hung and investigations about swings for older children are underway.

The Litter Project.  The group feel that the village needs more stationary litter bins.  Several locations have been suggested but further investigations regarding cost need to be made.
In the case of  the Recreation Ground the bins will come under the Development Plan and we will try to get them covered under the grant when we finalise this.

There are no meetings or work planned for August.  The September meeting is yet to be fixed.

Thank you for all your continued support.             Ailsa  McColville
