BAWDESWELL PARISH COUNCIL- EXTRACTS OF MEETING HELD ON MONDAY 4th NOVEMBER  2003 at 7.30pm. IN  THE VILLAGE HALL

PRESENT:  Councillors Hind(Chairman), Mallen, Lilwall and McColville
 Mr. G. Bambridge (DC)  7 Parishioners
APOLOGIES:    Councillors Copeman and Wallace.  Mrs. Floering Blackman
MINUTES OF LAST MEETING:    Agreed and signed
MATTERS ARISING:
- Mrs. Jackson has resigned from the PC.  There is now a vacancy if anyone wishes to apply, contact Clerk.
Planning:
- Land fronting Dereham Road/NW of The Drift - 3 plots - this was heard by the Dev.Control.Com. on 3 November and PP was refused.
- Old Workhouse Paddocks , Reepham Road - erection of building for vehicle, general storage, tack room and shower room - awaiting more information.
Mobile Police Station: Clerk spoken to DC.Derek Kevin who explained that Police are unable to attend any PC meetings due to lack of Officers and having to cover 71 villages.  Mobile station visits Foxley and Officer cycles through Bawdeswell to see if there are any problems.  Police Officers are also on the Community Information Bus which visits Folland Court on the 2nd Thursday of every month.
Field between Hall & Paradise Roads - still no reply from Premier Homes regarding future development  proposals - Clerk to write again to Env.Health about state of field.
Traffic Calming Issues - site meeting to be arranged November.
Countryside Map - Inclusion of Bawdeswell Heath could cause management problems and greater expense - it was decided not to include this on plan .
Grit Bins - one  (hopefully vandal-proof) to be ordered and put on grass near Village sign - if suitable more to be bought.
Village Appraisal:  Draft Parish Action Plan circulated before meeting - Councillor Mallen thanked everyone involved for the hard work to make the documentation acceptable.  (He would like to apologise to anyone who tried to contact him about this but unfortunately was ill - he says he will answer any questions if people would like to contact him).  A few changes were discussed and it is hoped to have it printed and circulated to all Parishioners before Christmas.
NEXT MEETING:   TUESDAY 2ND DECEMBER 7.30pm. IN THE VILLAGE HALL. This is the meeting when the precept is set and all parishioners are welcome to attend.

Vandals have now smashed glass on notice board in Hall Road - would all parishioners please be aware that these things are happening in our village .  If there are any problems which concern them please contact either clerk, chairman or phone Dereham police station and get an incident number so that action can be taken to stop petty or serious crime in our village.

USE US AS  YOU WOULD ANY OTHER POLICE STATION.

We offer a variety of services, including :

· Advice
· Crime Recording
· Information
· Lost and found property
· Crime prevention advice and literature
· Liaison with community groups

We stock.:

· All relevant forms and leaflets
· Crime prevention items  - Personal attack alarms - 
UV Pens - Tamper proof tax disc holders etc.

The Office is staffed by two specially trained Public Enquiry Officers, Linda Forder and Peter Duncan and by PC Christopher Howes, who will patrol the area.
Whilst every effort will be made to ensure the office arrives on time, it may be subject to delays at short notice.
