Foxley  Village  Hall An ‘Opening Evening’.

Foxley Village Hall has been completely renovated. New insulated ceiling, new insulated inner walls, new insulated floor, new electrics throughout.   All this was made possible by funding from Waste Recycling Environmental Ltd., (WREN), Breckland Council, Norfolk Rural Community Council, and Dereham Partnership.
The Village Hall Committee would like to invite all Foxley residents and our friends from Bawdeswell to come along on Friday 4th June 2004 between 7pm and 9pm to be part of the official ‘Opening Ceremony’.  We would like you to take a glass of wine with us, and for you to see for yourselves just how elegant and ‘user-friendly’ your hall has become.  Committee members will be happy to tell you about future projects that are being put into motion, and will readily listen to any ideas that you may want to discuss.  We are looking forward to seeing you.

Foxley Open Gardens Day
This item should have appeared in the February magazine and the editor lost it from his e-mails and only published a very brief summary from memory.  Here is the full text…and apologies.

To: Foxley Residents

During the last few years Foxley villagers have worked together very successfully to raise an enormous amount of money, not only for village projects, but also for other Norfolk charities.

A Garden Day is a popular and excellent way of raising funds for good causes, but it is felt that the next garden day to be held should have a completely new, and unique “Visitor Appeal”. The objective of this is to make it a “must visit event” in everyone’s diary.

To achieve this objective, the committee has decided it would be better not to hold an event in 2004.  However, later in the year a questionnaire will be delivered to each household asking for ideas as to how; what; when and where an event should be run and which charities would be favoured. if a positive response is received another event could possibly be held in 2005.

In the meantime, maybe other villagers will want to run an event  during 2004 and, if so, please bear in mind there are car park; direction and other signs available.

The new crockery has arrived and is in use although at the time of writing delivery of the furniture is still eagerly awaited.
The floor will be resurfaced once various possibilities have been fully researched and the best option selected.
We are very grateful to the Parish Council for organising repairs to the driveway, erecting a fence and trimming back the hedge and would like to express our thanks for the difference that this work has made in improving access to the Hall.
